Who We Are
The Panhellenic Federation of Sports Coaches (POPA) was founded in 2010 and serves as the umbrella professional organization for all Greek sports coaches, across both Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines. Its purpose is to unite Greek sports coaches to collectively pursue and promote their shared professional, social, and educational interests. Its membership comprises the coaches' associations for Sailing, Canoe-Kayak, Swimming/Water Polo/Synchronized Swimming/Diving, Weightlifting, Cycling, Skiing, Tennis, Coaches for Athletes with Disabilities, Badminton, Fencing, and Taekwondo. It encompasses virtually all existing coaches' associations, given that not all sports have corresponding associations.
Our Mission
We are the voice of the coaches.
The unification and cooperation of the Associations ...coaches of individual and team sports—both Olympic and non-Olympic—within a secondary-level trade union organization.
Coordinating and unifying the efforts of all the associations comprising the Federation to promote, study, and advance the shared economic, social, and professional interests of its members, while serving society as a whole.
Highlighting and elevating the status of the individual and team sports coaching profession.
Addressing and promoting any issue of interest to individual and team sports coaches that relates to the protection of their economic, social, and professional interests.
Ensuring the scientific competence of individual and team sports coaches, as well as their training and the maintenance of high standards of knowledge and professionalism.
Communicating and collaborating with relevant associations abroad to exchange and utilize knowledge, experience, and... best practices.

- Coaches' participation in sports decision-making.
- The establishment of associations ...coaches in every sport.
- The participation of coaches from all sports—through their respective associations—in POPA, enabling them to collectively advocate for, defend, and pursue their rights at every level (social, professional, educational, and regarding participation in key decisions affecting sports).
- Achieving the above will create a better environment for coaches and Greek sports, while realizing the long-held visions and expectations of principled coaches and sports fans alike.
